Gathering Information Beyond Effectiveness to
Enhance Dissemination: Using the RE-AIM Framework for the
Evaluation of Physical Activity Interventions
Greet Cardon, from Ghent University in Belgium, recently organized
a symposium to present applications of the RE-AIM framework to
physical activity interventions delivered in Finland, Belgium, and
the United States. The presentation introduces the RE-AIM framework
with specific examples of data needs, reporting methods and
demonstrate the potential for state and national level physical
activity interventions delivered through community, clinical, and
school settings.

Presented a series of talks and facilitated discussion on
"Application of External Validity Criteria for Translation
Research" as part of the NIH Conference on the Science of
Dissemination and Implementation held in Bethesda, January 28-29,

CENTER ON IMPLEMENTATION AND DISSEMINATION
RESEARCH
The Kaiser Colorado Institute for Health Research has launched a
center and resource for translation to practice and policy issues.
The center is the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Dissemination and
Implementation Research. It is led by Co-Directors, Drs. James
Dearing and Russ Glasgow (see www.kpco-ihr.org). While the center is hosted
within Kaiser and serves as a resource and learning laboratory for
multiple Kaiser research centers, it has a strong external and
community focus. The mission of the Center is to conduct research
on the development, implementation, and dissemination of applicable
concepts and practical tools for the integration of health care
research, practice, and policy." View an introduction slide
presentation to the center. For more information, contact Barbara McCray@kp.org.
