The following blog post is the sixth in our journey through the special edition of RE-AIM in the Frontiers in Public Health special issue! The article titled “An Extension of RE-AIM to Enhance Sustainability: Addressing Dynamic Context and Promoting Health Equity Over Time” written by Shelton et al., took a fresh perspective approach on the examing of the pragmatic application of RE-AIM on in the domain of sustainability. This article recommends the “extension of maintenance” to include consideration such as, but not limited to, the adaptations and potential de-implementation overtime of the evidence-based programs that we implement.
